This policy explains what personal data we process when you use this website or contact us, why we process it, how long we keep it, and the rights you have under the General Data Protection Regulation.
The controller for the processing described here, in the meaning of Article 4(7) of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), is:
If you have a question about this policy or want to exercise your rights, write to the address above and a person will answer you.
It covers the website link-building-austria.com and the direct communication that follows from it, such as email exchanges and enquiry forms. It does not cover third-party websites we link to, which run their own policies.
Where we act as a processor for client campaigns, for example when we handle data inside a client's own systems, the client remains the controller and their agreement with us governs that processing.
When you submit the form on our contact page, we receive the name and email address you enter, plus the company name, website and message if you provide them. We use this only to respond to your enquiry and, if we start working together, to set up the engagement.
Legal basis: Article 6(1)(b) GDPR, steps taken at your request before entering a contract, together with Article 6(1)(a) GDPR for the consent you give with the checkbox on the form. You can withdraw that consent at any time, with effect for the future.
The form includes a hidden anti-spam field. It is never shown to you and it collects nothing about you. Submissions where that field is filled are treated as automated and discarded.
Our hosting provider records technical information when a page is requested, which typically includes the IP address, the time of the request, the page requested, the referring page, and basic browser and device information. These logs exist so the site can be delivered reliably and protected against abuse.
Legal basis: Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest is operating a secure, functioning website. Logs are kept for a short period and then deleted or aggregated.
This website does not set advertising cookies and does not run cross-site tracking. Any cookie used is strictly necessary for the site to work, which under Section 165(3) of the Austrian Telecommunications Act 2021 does not require consent.
If we later introduce analytics, we will ask for your consent first through a banner that lets you decline without losing access to the site, and we will update this policy before that happens.
Our contact page embeds a map from Google Maps so you can find the office. When that map loads, your browser connects to servers operated by Google and Google may receive your IP address and information about your device. We have no control over what Google does with that data once it is received.
Legal basis: Article 6(1)(f) GDPR, our legitimate interest in showing visitors where we are. Google's own privacy policy applies to their processing, and you can prevent it by not opening the contact page or by blocking third-party content in your browser.
We keep the number of parties that touch your data small. The following categories may process personal data on our behalf, each under a data processing agreement in the meaning of Article 28 GDPR:
We do not sell personal data, we do not share it for advertising, and we do not pass it to third parties beyond what is described here, unless we are legally required to do so.
Where a processor is based outside the European Economic Area, as is the case with our form provider, the transfer is covered by the Standard Contractual Clauses adopted by the European Commission under Article 46(2)(c) GDPR, or by an adequacy decision where one applies. You can request a copy of the relevant safeguards by writing to us.
When a retention period ends, the data is deleted or irreversibly anonymised.
Under the GDPR you have the right to:
To exercise any of these, email fabi@site-media.co.uk with enough detail for us to identify your records. We answer within one month, and we will tell you if we need longer, as Article 12(3) GDPR allows. There is no charge for a reasonable request.
If you believe we have handled your data unlawfully, you can complain to the Austrian Data Protection Authority:
We would appreciate the chance to put things right first, but you are not obliged to contact us before going to the authority.
The site is served over an encrypted connection (TLS). Access to enquiry data and client records is limited to the people who need it to do their work, and it is protected by individual accounts and multi-factor authentication. No system is perfectly secure, so we also keep the amount of personal data we hold to the minimum the work requires.
This is a business-to-business website. It is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under sixteen. If you believe a child has sent us personal data, tell us and we will delete it.
We update this page when our processing changes, for example if we add analytics or change a processor. The date at the top of the page shows when the current version took effect. Material changes that affect you will be explained in plain language rather than buried in a revision note.
Write to us and a person will answer it in plain language.
