Fintech
A regulated DACH fintech with solid product pages, almost no Austrian editorial footprint, and buyers who expected local proof before they would trust the pitch.

Situation
The product was ready for Austria. The trust signals were not. Coverage that existed sat almost entirely on German titles writing for German readers, and Austrian prospects — especially in procurement and compliance-adjacent roles — kept asking for third-party references they could find in their own market.
Previous outreach had either stalled at compliance review or produced soft lifestyle mentions that legal would never have approved as authority. The marketing team wanted momentum; compliance wanted every claim locked; neither side trusted the other's instinct about which Austrian publishers were worth the risk.
The deeper issue was posture. Feature-led pitches read like advertising to finance desks, and unnamed hyperlinks carried nothing into the summaries buyers and AI tools actually surface. They needed citations that named the company, survived legal review, and belonged to this market.
Programme architecture
Scrub the timeline to see how the work was sequenced. Each phase had a single commercial job.
Guardrails
Approved vocabulary and forbidden framings before outreach. Nothing left the building without both marketing and compliance sign-off.
Approach
We treated compliance as a design constraint, not a blocker, and built an Austrian authority programme inside those rails.
Marketing and compliance agreed approved vocabulary, forbidden framings and review gates. Nothing left the building without both sign-offs, which removed the cycle of last-minute kills.
Shortlists favoured titles Austrian prospects and partners still read for third-party proof — not grey blogs that would never clear internal risk.
Articles led with regulatory and operational themes the product illustrates. The company appeared as a named source inside a real argument, which is what desks would run.
Named references went into established Austrian finance explainers already earning impressions, concentrating signal on the same priority URLs.
Unnamed links were rejected by default. For a regulated buyer, and for German-language AI answers, the name in the sentence is the asset.

In their words
Compliance stopped being the bottleneck once claim language was locked. Austrian finance desks started citing us in places our prospects already trusted.
